Carolina Panthers

The Panthers came to Charlotte in 1995 as the NFL’s 29th franchise. Playing home games at Bank of America stadium, the Panthers compete in the NFC’s South division. Although based in North Carolina, the team represents fans from both North Carolina & South Carolina. Two states, one team is a motto often heard during home games along with the Panther’s rally cry of Keep Pounding.

Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets name returned to its rightful home in Buzz City in 2014. The Hornets are members of the NBA’s Southeast Division in the league’s Eastern Conference. The team is largely owned by former NBA player Michael Jordan, who acquired controlling interest in the team in 2010. The Hornets play their home games at Spectrum Center in Charlotte Center City.

Charlotte Checkers

The Charlotte Checkers are a minor-league professional ice hockey team based in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. They are members of the Midwest Division of the Western Conference of the American Hockey League (AHL), and are the AHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Checkers play their home games at Bojangles’ Coliseum.

The Charlotte Knights moved to their home at BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte in 2014. The Knights play in the International League of Minor League Baseball and are the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.

The Charlotte Hounds are a Major League Lacrosse (MLL) professional men’s field lacrosse franchise that began play in the 2012 MLL season along with Ohio Machine as part of the league’s plan to have 16 teams by 2020. The team is based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The team’s home games are played at American Legion Memorial Stadium.
